Russell is an outstanding multi-instrumentalist, with many years professional playing experience in a wide variety of ensembles in Jazz, Pop, Rock & Latin  genres. 


He is a graduate of NMIT and VCA.Major artists he has performed with include  Hugh Jackman, Brian Cadd, Doug Parkinson, Jeff Duff, Axle Whitehead & TISM. He also toured internationally through Europe and Sri Lanka, and extensively across Australia. Russell has also performed at major events, including the Commonwealth Games, Melbourne International Festival, Melbourne Comedy Festival, Melbourne Jazz Festival, Melbourne Grand Prix
& Soho Jazz Festival.


Russell first performed as a guest player with Grand Wazoo - Kings of Soul on Tenor and Alto Sax, before becoming a permanent band member. He is a wonderful asset to the line-up, due to his love of the material, marvellous solos and pleasant demeanour. He also performs in John Montesante’s Cafe Society Orchestra and on JMQ recordings.
